2 ATM Machines Hit, BNI Intensifies Sweepings

BNI stated that two ATMs are implicated with a number of customers' complaints of missing funds.
"Based on the verification, the occurences happened only around Denpasar, and out of 86 BNI ATMs in Denpasar, only two are implicated with the complaints," stated BNI corporate secretary Intan Abdams Katoppo during a press conference.
According to her, BNI is identifying and verifying the reports. "If the reports proves other factors besides customer negligence, then BNI will refund the customers' funds within 2 x 24 hours after the verification."
Intan also mentioned that most BNI ATMs are equipped with sophisticated security technology to prevent skimming, and soon all BNI ATMs in Indonesia will have the same technology implemented. "BNI is also intensifying monitorings and sweepings on ATMs to prevent unwanted incidents."
She stated that the problem is only occuring on ATM transactions, while for other e-channels, such as the BNI Internet Banking, BNI SMS Banking, BNI Mobile Banking, and BNI PhonePlus, are not affected at all.http://english.kompas.com/read/2010/01/21/09064237/2.ATM.Machines.Hit..BNI.Intensifies.Sweepings
